The Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs is proud to announce its participation in the 2025 NASPAA Global Conference: Making a Difference Globally Through Quality Public Service Education, taking place Oct. 8–10 in Flagstaff, Arizona. As the top-ranked public school for public affairs in the nation, the O’Neill School looks forward to connecting with peers, partners, and students while engaging in vital conversations about the future of public service.
The O’Neill School will host a booth throughout the conference and encourages attendees to visit, learn more about the school’s innovative programs, and meet faculty members who are advancing research and practice in public affairs. In addition, O’Neill School leaders will participate in several key sessions during the three-day event.
O’Neill School Dean Siân Mooney, who serves as cochair of NASPAA’s Comprehensive Schools Section and as a member of the NASPAA Policy Committee, will share her expertise in sessions that highlight pressing issues in public service education and leadership. Her participation at the NASPAA Conference underscores the school’s role in tackling multidisciplinary challenges. She will present at:
- Multi-Sector Governance in an Evolving Global Context: New Approaches to International Partnerships — Oct. 9, 4:45–5:45 p.m.
- Navigating the New Public Service Employment Landscape: Implications for Curriculum, Professional Development, and Engagement — Oct. 10, 8–9 a.m.
- Beyond Research: Strengthening Faculty Development in Public Affairs Schools —Oct. 10, 10:30–11:30 a.m.
Associate Dean Jill Nicholson-Crotty will also contribute to the conference. Nicholson-Crotty’s research focuses on both public and nonprofit management and the role of those sectors in the policy process. She is one of a limited number of scholars who examine the policy role of traditional charitable organizations. Nicholson-Crotty has written extensively on the motivations for and consequences of lobbying activity among 501(c)(3) charities. She will participate in:
- AI Instruction for the Next Public Service Workforce — Oct. 9, 10:30–11:30 a.m.
- Schools Networking for Student Opportunities — Oct. 10, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
