Are you ready to start developing skills that will prepare you for a career leading for the greater good? If so, we offer direct admission to a select group of high-achieving students who know that they want to make SPEA their academic home at IU.
Direct Admissions
High achieving high school students who are admitted to IU with a SPEA major are reviewed for Direct Admission to SPEA on a case-by-case basis. Competitive students for Direct Admission will have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum SAT score of 1290 (Critical Reading and Math only) or ACT score of 27. For fall 2017, the average SPEA Direct Admit had a high school GPA of 3.87 and an SAT score of 1310.
As a Direct Admit, you'll bypass our standard admission process and be able to meet with SPEA advisors as soon as you arrive on campus. You'll also be eligible for special scholarships and receive priority consideration for placement in the Civic Leaders Center. Apply to IU by November 1 for the greatest scholarship eligibility.
If have any questions about direct admission—or if you were not offered direct admission and would like to petition—contact our Undergraduate Recruitment Office at meetspea@indiana.edu or (812) 855-6774.
Remember, the first step is to apply to IU! But, if you've already been admitted to IU and want to learn more about SPEA, come talk to us. We'd love to show you around.
