The exchange program between Sciences Po and SPEA began in fall 2011. As a SPEA IUB student, you can spend a semester at the Reims campus. Sciences Po has a strong focus on the social sciences and humanities, but also offers courses in other fields such as business, law, and journalism. The vast majority of courses are offered in English. There is no requirement to speak French in order to attend Science Po. The program curriculum can be taken in English, French, or a combination of English and French courses. Each semester the SPEA undergraduate advisors review available courses to determine course equivalencies at SPEA, so please consult with your advisor when developing your semester course plan.

You should prepare to take the equivalent of 15 IU credits, during your semester at Science Po. Two European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are equal to one IU credit, requiring you to enroll in a minimum of 30 ECTS credits throughout the semester.

You will have the option to earn a certificate in one of four categories:

There is no obligation to complete one of the certificate programs, it is merely an option. If it better suits your interests, please feel free to mix and match classes from the different certificate programs. You are also encouraged (but not required) to take a four hour per week French language course while you study at Sciences Po. You can view course offerings from prior semesters as examples of coursework available at Sciences Po:

Although course offerings are similar from year to year, all courses are subject to change.

This program is open to SPEA undergraduate students at IU Bloomington. To apply and participate in the exchange, you must have completed your sophomore year of study and be in good academic standing.
