Program Structure

ILP is offered during the academic year (fall and spring) and summer terms.

If you participate in ILP during the fall and spring, you’ll intern part-time with a local Bloomington organization while continuing to take a regular academic course load. You’ll also participate in professional development workshops.

Summer Fellows have a more intensive experience, interning over a 10-week period with one of SPEA’s partner organizations throughout south central Indiana. You’ll start with an orientation program and complete additional professional development training during your service.

Eligibility

All IU SPEA Bloomington students are eligible to apply for ILP. To be eligible to participate in the program, you must:

  • Be a full-time student at IU Bloomington
  • Be an admitted SPEA undergraduate student
  • Have at least two semesters remaining before graduation
  • Be in good academic standing (This differs depending upon your major—check with your academic advisor if you have any questions regarding this requirement)
  • Have documented registration for, or completion of, V252 or H267, Career Development and Planning
