Be a Summer Fellow with the SPEA Indiana Leadership Program. All IU Bloomington SPEA undergraduate students are eligible to participate in a summer of valuable experiential learning with nonprofit organizations dedicated to bringing individuals and communities out of poverty.
Indiana Leadership Program
Summer Fellows through the Indiana Leadership Program are selected through a competitive application and interview process. If selected, you’ll join a local nonprofit or public organization as an intern over a 10-week period in the summer, helping to serve the needs of local community members.
The Summer Fellowship will commence with an orientation program focusing on professional and leadership development and all Summer Fellows will participate in additional service and professional development workshops during their service.
The Indiana Leadership Program will award all Summer Fellows a $2,000 scholarship, posted to the student’s Bursar account, before the start of the internship to help cover basic living costs during the summer.
All current undergraduate IU SPEA Bloomington students are eligible to apply for the Indiana Leadership Program Summer Fellowship. Summer Fellowship eligibility requirements include:
- Admission to SPEA
- Good academic standing
- Current enrollment in, or completion of, SPEA V-252 – Career Development and Planning
