In her new role, Simon will help steer the direction of economic discourse, including overseeing the peer review process for submitted manuscripts and helping to identify and shepherd high-quality empirical research through to publication.

“I’m thrilled to accept this opportunity to serve as an editor of REStat,” Simon said. “I’m looking forward to learning from the other REStat editor and seeing the range of new work coming through the journal.”

The appointment follows Simon’s successful tenure as an editor for the Journal of Health Economics and co-Editor of Journal of Human Resources, positions she held from 2020 through early 2026. Her transition to the editorial board of REStat reinforces her commitment to advancing rigorous research that addresses complex societal challenges.
