Shannon Kane returned to SPEA as an adjunct faculty for V246, Elements of Governmental and Nonprofit Financial Accounting Cycles, in 2018.
Kane earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1991. Her professional career began as an auditor for the Government Accountability Office (GAO).She then moved into public accounting with a specialty in government and not-for-profit entities.
Kane has served as CFO of the Monroe County YMCA in Bloomington, Indiana, for the past 18 years, where she is responsible for the accounting and information technology functions.
In addition to her career and her position as an adjunct faculty for Indiana University, Kane enjoys giving back to the profession through her volunteer role as a member of the Indiana CPA Society.
