In January 2016, construction of the Paul H. O’Neill Graduate Center expansion and renovation began at SPEA  in Bloomington. The new space, completed in January 2017, houses SPEA’s top-ranked graduate programs and has expanded the footprint of the existing SPEA building to extend out to Tenth Street.

Two supporters leading the way through philanthropy


Paul H. O’Neill

Paul H. O’Neill received a Master in Public Affairs from Indiana University in 1966 and an honorary doctorate from the University in 2014. In 1967, he joined the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, serving as deputy director from 1974 to 1977. In addition to serving as Secretary of the Treasury under President George W. Bush, O’Neill has held leadership positions in the business and nonprofit sectors. He was president of International Paper, chairman of the RAND Corp., and CEO of Alcoa.

David Wang

David Wang is the founding chairman of the SPEA Dean’s Advisory Council and a retired International Paper Co. executive.
