Vicki Allums, MPA’86
Allums is associate general counsel of intellectual property and information law at a component of the U.S. Department of Defense called the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and adjunct professor of law at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Previously, she worked as a senior attorney in the Office of Legislative and International Affairs at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in the Intellectual Property Branch at U.S. Customs, as assistant general counsel for National Public Radio, and as associate general counsel at the American Institute of Architects. Allums is an active member of the SPEA community and she continues to provide career advice to current SPEA students. She is a founding emeritus member of SPEA’s Distinguished Alumni Council.
Mathew Gentile, BSPA’95
Gentile is a principal at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services in Washington, D.C., where he leads their federal analytics practice. In 2013, the U.S. Secretary of the Interior appointed him to serve as a member of the National Geospatial Advisory Committee. He began his career as a White House staffer under the Clinton Administration. He co-founded Syncline, a geospatial services company in 1997. In 2003 he co-founded Traverse Technologies, an analytics firm, which was acquired by Deloitte FAS in 2010. He established the Gentile Family Washington Leadership Program Scholarship, crediting the Washington Leadership Program for his career. He is a member of SPEA’s Distinguished Alumni Council.
