Kevin Fortwendel is the vice president of university advancement at Chatham University. He previously served as the assistant vice president of principal gifts at DePaul University in Chicago, where he developed fundraising strategies to close transformative gifts for the university. He has ten years of experience in higher education alumni relations and development, including past positions at DePaul University College of Law and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and School of Law.
Prior to this, Fortwendel has worked as a development manager at Access Community Health Network, and helped low-income, rural communities develop water and wastewater infrastructure as a program manager at the Indiana Rural Community Assistance Program. In addition, he has served as treasurer on the boards of Bella Voce and the Indiana University GLBT Alumni Association.
Fortwendel received a bachelor’s degree, with highest distinction, in public affairs from Indiana University and a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
