Vicki Allums is associate general counsel of intellectual property in the U.S. Department of Defense. She has more than 15 years of legal and policy experience as a government and corporate attorney in domestic and international intellectual property matters, e-commerce, cyber law, international trade, and information assurance.
Allums previously served as a senior attorney in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and as a senior attorney in the intellectual property branch of U.S. Customs. Her private sector experience includes working as assistant general counsel for National Public Radio and as associate general counsel at the American Institute of Architects. Allums is an adjunct professor of law at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
She received a bachelor's degree from Berea College in Kentucky, an MPA from Indiana University, and a JD from the University of Kentucky.
